Giving 3,500 school children clean water. That's the plan.

The Elmira Rotary Club, in cooperation with the Petlad Rotary Club of India, funded the construction of two reverse osmosis water purification plants at two working class high schools in Petlad, India.

The project cost $11,000, of which $1,134 came from members of the Elmira Rotary Club and $1,000 from the Elmira Rotary Club itself.    Additional funds were contributed by Rotary Clubs in India.  The project received a $5,000 grant from the Rotary Foundation.

Children in the Petlad community have had a high incidence of water born diseases such as hepatitis and typhoid.  This project will reduce the prevalence of such diseases.
